Almost Home Foster Kennels, MN Lic. 132328 is a 501c3, not-for-profit, foster-based, rescue organization. AHFK is located in SE Minnesota, in the Austin/Albert Lea area. AHFK is primarily a Beagle and small dog rescue.

Our focus is to pull from High-Kill Shelters and to save those dogs that are at risk of euthanasia.

All AHFK adoptions require an approved, completed application, a Veterinarian and Personal Reference Check, a smoke-free environment, and a home visit.
Our Adoption fee is $425.00 for a single dog adoption. However, a portion of Lucky's adoption fee has been sponsored. His adoption fee is now $250.00

All our dogs are completely vetted, 4DX tested, current on vaccinations, *spayed/neutered, and microchipped.

We are currently accepting adoption applications for Lucky- OK.

Lucky is a mixed breed. We believe him to be a Dachshund and possibly Chihuahua mix. Lucky is 15#. Lucky was dumped in a rural area of Oklahoma. Lucky is on phenobarbital tablets, 30mg, twice daily to prevent seizures. His seizures, prior to being prescribed Phenobarbital, have all been mild with no loss of consciousness. Lucky is truly a lap dog, loves to sit with his human. Lucky gets along with all other dogs, is indifferent to cats and is good with humans. Lucky is 10 years of age.

Lucky is looking for a home where one Pet Parent that is a stay-at-home parent, or one which works from home; a family that can help Lucky acclimate to her new surroundings and environment with compassion, love, and patience. Please allow 6-8 weeks for Lucky to acclimate to the drastic changes in his life.
