·Personality:

Yahoo, my name is River; I am a high-octane lad who would love to be part of your family. I was in an over-crowded shelter in Texas and luckily had the opportunity to be part of a transport heading to WCHS. I am a youngster so I have many things to learn, discover and explore. I have a fair amount of confidence and am willing to try new things like putting my paws on novel surfaces but I am still cautious when I approach something I find odd. If you give me a little time and encouragement and show me that all is safe, I will approach it at my own pace to investigate it with my nose; courage pills called hot dogs can help as well. I weigh about 41 pounds now and will be getting bigger so I hope we can take some classes to practice obedience and manners before I am fully grown. I should probably practice polite leash walking and not jumping on folks when I get excited. I have a happy waggy tail that shows my joy when I am out and about for a walk. I understand the cue for ‘sit' and am sure I could learn many more human words with your patient and positive training techniques. I have a spectacular nose and love to explore; I am an adventurous soul who would enjoy accompanying you wherever you go. I will need fabulous manners so I am welcome everywhere. I am considered an extreme athlete so I will need plenty of exercise every day and it would be great to have a job or two to keep me busy. I had the chance to romp with other rowdy pups in the shelter play groups; that is a ton of fun. Perhaps we can participate in canine sports like agility or get involved in nose work or dog parkour. I am an affectionate lover and think tender scratches and cuddles are wonderful. It would be lovely to have marathon snuggle sessions in the evening after a day filled with fun and activity. I know I have to practice something called house-training so I know proper potty behavior. A routine, lots of yummy treats and praise will go a long way to helping me master house-training when I use the outside facilities. Puppies and dogs need love, exercise, mental stimulation and consistency to be healthy, happy and confident. I hope you stop by to meet me in person; I love to make new friends. When you discover how amusing and entertaining I am, you will agree that would I would surly fill your home with sunshine and levity.
