This gentle soul might be a bit shy at first, a remnant from her past life, but with a bit of patience, she will soon show you her loving nature. Burrito and her brother (Ginger) were found in a terrible cat hoarding situation.
Burrito would do best in a calm home environment. Burrito is in need of a confident feline friend, someone who can help her overcome her timidness and embrace her true personality.
She's a bit stubborn at times, but that's part of her tortie personality! She loves playing with all her foster cat friends and hanging with her foster humans.
She's waiting for a special person who'll understand her gentle spirit and offer her a forever home where she can feel safe and loved.

Adoption fees are as follows: $155 for a single cat or kitten, $195 for a pair of cats or kittens. When adopting a cat from AHSEM the adoption includes spay or neuter surgery, age appropriate core vaccines, microchipping, combo tested (for FIV/FeLV), and basic wellness care including deworming and flea treatment.

AHSEM treats every adoption as "foster to adopt" This means that the first two weeks in which you have the cat is the "foster period." We do our best to ensure the right match for all involved and want to give the cat(s) time to decompress and adapt to their new environment. However, we realize sometimes things don't work out as expected. Therefore, during that two-week period, if something doesn’t work out you can bring the cat back. We will always take our cats back even after the "foster to adopt" period. We would hate to see them end up at a kill shelter, abandoned, or any other unsafe situation.

We are a non-profit rescue that is run entirely by volunteers. We work in partnership with our local PetSmart, located on Woodward Avenue in Royal Oak, MI.
