My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Ewok is a sweet and gentle old man who loves to lounge and cuddle, making him the perfect lap companion. He enjoys attention and always lets you know when he's ready for more cuddles! Despite his age, he remains a curious and social pup. He adores long walks to the dog park and Golden Gate Park. Ewok is incredibly friendly with both other dogs and people, always eager to say hi!

Ewok is 13 years old and 13.6  pounds. Ewok has a heart murmur but does not need any treatment for it at this time. He has had a dental in foster care.

Grateful Dogs Rescue incurs substantial veterinary and other expenses in rescuing our dogs. In order to recoup some of these costs, we request a tax-deductible donation for each adoption. The suggested donation for Ewok is $200.

If you are interested in adopting Ewok, please complete our online adoption application at https://www.gratefuldogsrescue.org/adoption-process/ . One of our volunteers will get back to you. Adoptions are local, confined to the SF Bay Area.

Additional adoption info

The Grateful Dogs Rescue adoption procedure is designed to find a good match between the dog and adopter. Our goal is a happy foster to forever transition. The adoption procedure includes an application, interview, home check, and an adoption donation. The adoption donation helps to cover spay/neuter, shots and other medical care given before the dog is made available for adoption.

More about this rescue

Grateful Dogs Rescue was founded in 1990; its mission is to rescue dogs not made available for adoption at San Francisco Animal Care and Control, and other local shelters, through no fault of their own. Rather than letting these dogs be euthanized, Grateful Dogs saves as many as possible by fostering these dogs in a loving home until a forever loving home is found.

Grateful Dogs Rescue is always in need of new foster homes!  You can make a difference by fostering. The number of dogs we can save is dependent on having foster parents to care for them until they find their forever homes. All of our dogs are in foster care.
