My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Mamas!

Mamas was surrendered by her owner to Riverside County Animal Services for unknown reasons, and we scooped her up on August 20th to become a Frosted Face. Mamas is 9 years old, weighs 51 lbs., and is so sweet. She is also a smart cookie who knows how to sit, shake, lay down, and rollover. Be sure to watch the video of her demonstrating her skills! As you'll see, once Mamas rolls over, she LOVES having her belly rubbed.

Be sure to watch the fun videos of Mamas's recent adventures at the beach and stand-up paddle boarding. She is pure joy!

Mamas went on a two-week Frosted Fling, so we could learn what she is like in a home setting. Her Fling Mom reports:

"It was truly the best two weeks having Mamas in our home. She is hands down the sweetest dog I have ever spent time with - so loving, goofy, loyal, and good with absolutely everyone and every dog! I noticed she is especially drawn to little dogs and is more playful with them. Mamas and my little dog shared a dog bed and even shared out of the same food and water bowl (although there was two separate onesbowls for them.) Mamas even met a cat and just ignored her.

Mamas loves all the attention from people. She loves pets and belly rubs, and if you take your hand away for a second, she pushes up on you for more love. She followed me everywhere I went inside, and if I left the house for a few minutes to run errands and left her behind she would just be laying next to the door waiting for me. Mamas does howl a bit being left alone, but I do partially blame my dog for that. I think Mamas was just following his lead.

On her first day here, Mamas did have an accident next to the doggy door, I showed her how the door works, and ever since then, no accidents! When I was at work (around 4 hours only), she did not have access to doggy door, and she was perfectly fine waiting for me to get home to let her outside.

Mamas is very active for her age and plays just like a puppy. After a few hours of being out and about, or at the dog park, she is ready to cuddle up on the couch or her bed and sleep the rest of the day. She is a very strong girl, so at first, she was pulling on her leash, but after a week I switched to a harness, and it made a huge difference. Then, she barely pulled at all, and was just trotting along looking back at me smiling.

I believe Mamas would do best in a family where there are other dogs, or where there is someone home most of the time. She sure loves companionship and attention. She is completely happy just always being next to somebody's side. Mamas is going to be the biggest blessing to whoever decides to adopt her!"

Mamas just left on another Fling to enjoy time in a home while she waits to meet her forever family.

If you are looking for an all-around good girl and devoted best friend, please email adopt@frostedfacesfoundation.org to schedule a time to meet Mamas!
