My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Cute, adorable, and ever so loving and happy, Solo is a six month old GSD mix that was dumped in Linden. He was found and saved by a kind Samaritan who took him home. She initially thought she had found a possible home with one of her co-workers but could not keep him until the family returned from vacation. Another co-worker named Rasheeda offered to temporarily foster Solo until the family could take him. Unfortunately, when the family returned, they had changed their mind and decided not to adopt him so Rasheeda ended up with Solo. She didn't have many other options so she called Golden State.

Solo has a couple of large breed four-legged siblings and can "keep up with the big dogs". He is also very comfortable with people of all ages and is good with kitties. He is housebroken, crate trained, and loves to play fetch. Rasheeda has a basket filled with toys and Solo loves to take out a bunch at a time.

Solo walks well on a leash but would benefit from more training because, since he is still a puppy, he can get exctied and has a tendency to jump on people. However, Rasheeda is diligently teaching him to keep "four on the floor".

Solo would do best with someone who has experience and the resources (time, energy, and commitment) raising a puppy but would absolutely love another dog in the home to keep him company.

More about this rescue

Golden State German Shepherd Rescue
is a 501(c)(3) non-profit based in the Central Valley of Northern California

Our mission is to find loving homes for German Shepherd Dogs in need of a second chance and to educate the public about this highly intelligent and versatile breed.

Most of the dogs in our program come from Central Valley animal shelters where they have run out of time. We place them into foster homes to assess their needs and gives us time to fully vet them. And then we find perfect fit adopters throughout Northern California..
