My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Wichita!

We rescued 10-year-old Wichita from Riverside County Department of Animal Services on August 20th. He is a very sweet, easy-going boy who weighs 18 lbs. and gets along well with other dogs in a our play yard. He enjoys going on our weekly Sunday hikes, has great leash manners, and easily does 2.5 miles.

A volunteer took Wichita out for a solo adventure, and he had a blast! They went to the
Cattle Dog Cafe: where Wichita enjoyed a delicious pupcup and the attention from a friendly little girl. Then, at Dos Picos Park, though he wasn't too interested in relaxing on the grass, he loved the stroll and was eager to explore. (See video!) Next, Wichita settled down at Hatfield Creek Winery after a few minutes of sniffing around. The cool air and a place to nap were just what he needed after his busy afternoon!

Wichita is looking for a forever home where he can enjoy his golden years surrounded by love. If you're looking for a sweet, energetic companion with a friendly disposition, Wichita might be the perfect match for you!

Wichita went on on a two-week Frosted Fling, so we could learn what he is like in a home. His Fling Mom reports:

"Witchita is the best boy! He has settled in and changed a lot this first week after starting off a bit shy and reserved. Now I can say he is fully become a true lap dog! I can only imagine what he would be like with a family of his own. He took a little time to fully accept us, but he loves hard!

Here is what we know about Witchita:

"Witchita is the best boy! He has settled in and he keeps getting better! He has changed a lot - started off a bit shy and reserved, but now I can now say he is fully become a true lap dog! I can only imagine what he would be like with a family of his own. He took a little time to fully accept us, but he loves hard!

Here is what we know about Witchita:

* loves blankets
* loves the couch (and now laps); has accepted every family member equally
* has been a picky eater but finally found dog food he likes (might be his teeth, he doesn't have many and is scheduled for a dental)
* eats 3 small meals a day
* sleeps through the night quietly in his own area.
* no separation anxiety
* quiet haven't heard a bark yet
* can jump on couch all by himself
* doesn't mind going for walk, but doesn't have to have it either. He goes out twice a day, strolls out, and walks back
* hasn't met other dogs, but when we are out walking he doesn't pay attention to them
* easy to pick up
* cutest eyes that will melt you
* follows you around and will settle wherever you are
* super chill, calm
* once it's dark, he falls asleep on the couch watching movies until family goes to bed
* happily prances around
* not a toy guy so far
* enjoyed an outing to Liberty Station

Wichita is a quiet, peaceful, zen kind of guy!"
