Smoke and siblings were born under a house and were feral when they were found and brought to their TC Paw foster home in late spring. His foster family has worked tirelessly with Smoke, and they report that he has made a TON of progress. He now walks around the house with his tail up and proud. He's gone from from hissing and hiding to greeting his foster mom at the door when she comes home or calls him. He's a smart little guy, the leader of his litter, who has shown the others that she's okay. He loves to play and enjoys all his toys. You can approach and pet him if you do it slowly. He will run if you try to pick him up unless he knows it's for food. Let him see that you have Churu treats in your hand, and he'll let you pick him up and hold him while he eats.
Smoke's new owners will need to help him get fully acclimated to his new home. His foster mom says to block hiding places, like under and behind furniture. When he's hungry is the perfect time to work with him. Feeding time is "working time" for him to learn that being close to you means food. Pet him, kiss him on the head, gently stroke his belly, lift him slightly off the floor with both hands for a few seconds, and then let him eat again. While he’s lifted, move him around the food bowl six inches at a time. All these things will help. She has more advice she's happy to share with anyone interested in Smoke.
Scooby is one of Smoke’s siblings. Check his page too. Their foster family welcomes home visits to meet the kittens.
