Prescott entered Baldwin Park Shelter as a stray. When he wasn't claimed, we scooped him up on August 20th to become a Frosted Face. Prescott is estimated to be 8 years old and weighs 17 lbs.
A few days after this cutie arrived, Prescott was chosen for a two-week Frosted Fling, which helped us to learn a lot about him while he enjoyed the comforts of being in a home again.
His Fling Mom shares:
"Prescott is super adaptable, adorable and adoptable! He loves people and was friendly to anyone who came to visit. He was really good in his crate and was fine overnight. He is also great in the car.
Prescott is super smart and very trainable. I only had 2 weeks with him, but he responded to any corrections I gave him like "off" or "lay down". He learned "let's go outside" and "let's go for a walk" and would wait at the appropriate door. He did take off once, when I first brought him home, and I learned to keep a good eye on him when I opened an outside door. He responded very well to "stay" and did not pursue a bolt after that. I think he was just freaked out being in a new environment.
Prescott enjoys a good walk. I took him out for a little over a mile twice a day, and he also liked to play with toys. When he was not engaged, he was very happy to lay on the couch or the "big bed" and chill. He also LOVES bully sticks and is quite content to have a good chew when we watch tv. Prescott is a very good combination of being game for an adventure and enjoying a good nap.
Prescott is house-trained! I let him out in the yard when he got up, and every time I came home, and he peed. He always pooped on our walks. Prescott is reactive to other dogs on walks, but I think he would respond well to training. He was so good when I gave him a bath. He stayed still (no squirmies) and even delicately picked up his paws one at a time when I rinsed him off.
Prescott will be a great addition to his forever family. He's the best boy!"
Prescott is currently on a second Frosted Fling and enjoys accompanying his fling family to the ballpark to watch their son play. They report that Prescott gets lots of compliments for being such a good boy during the games. He likes riding in the car and is happy to sniff around or stay close.
Prescott is so ready for his forever home! Might it be with you? To schedule a time to meet this sweet boy, please email adopt@frostedfacesfoundation.org.
