My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Pebbles and Bam Bam were found roaming around the wooded area of a local neighborhood. We think they had been outside for quite a while because they both had ticks and fleas. Pebbles also had warbles that needed to be removed by our veterinarian. Now that they are both healthy, they are available for adoption as a pair. This bonded pair is very sweet although a bit shy. Bam Bam is more outgoing, and will peek his head out of his hidey house or even come to the front of the cage to check out who is coming by. Pebbles likes to hide in her hidey when others are around, but seems to be getting used to the fact that human interaction is a positive experience. They loved their daily salads and are learning to use the litterbox and keep their enclosure tidy. BunnyPeople's policy is to adopt within a 60-mile radius of the shelter in Harrisburg, PA only.

More about this rescue

BunnyPeople was established as a 501(c)3 rabbit rescue, adoption and education organization in 1992. We operate a no-kill shelter that houses approximately 22 rabbits at any given time. While in our care, the rabbits receive a proper diet, exercise, human companionship and any medical attention needed until they are adopted. We strive to educate the public on responsible rabbit ownership, including guidelines on choosing a rabbit and proper care for these indoor pets. We discourage the purchase of rabbits as Easter gifts, since many are dumped a few months later. We also promote spaying and neutering not only for population control, but for the better health and longevity of each animal.
