If you see pets listed by a private owner, it means that they’re adoptable through Adopt a Pet’s Rehome program – the safe and reliable way to find a loving new home for your pet.
Pluto is an adorable, energetic 5-year-old Pitbull/Labrador mix. During the first three years of his life, he lived in three very different environments. This has led to anxiety challenges for him; he can be quite vocal about feeling discomfort in new or challenging situations. Once he's gained confidence and you've earned his trust though, Pluto is the sweetest, most affectionate companion. He LOVES being outdoors—grass, sunshine and fetch are his primary needs. He's had a good bill of health, his only special need is food that does not contain chicken, as he is allergic. After an incident wherein a small child threw a ball at his head, Pluto is very scared of kids. Any home with children will not bode well for him, and any foster parents who have children over often may not be a good fit. He is also not trained to stay in a crate for long periods of time. Overall, optimal foster parents for Pluto are super patient and active adults who love to be outside.
