My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Scooter is a special little pup with a heart full of determination and joy. Born with small front legs, she has adapted beautifully and gets around by scooting on her chest. To help her explore the world with ease, Scooter has a custom-made wheelchair that we are sure she will master once she gets tired of scooting.

Scooter's zest for life is truly inspiring. She's a playful, affectionate, and curious puppy who loves interacting with people and other animals. Despite her physical challenges, she doesn't let anything slow her down and approaches each day with a cheerful and positive attitude.

Scooter is a bright and eager learner. She's been making excellent progress with crate-training. Scooter is also working on her housebreaking and is doing very well. With consistent training and lots of love, she will continue to thrive and become a well-behaved companion.

Scooter likes to play with the other pups in the house. She's also great with children and has a gentle and patient demeanor.

Scooter will require a family that can continue to provide her with the special care she needs, including assistance with her wheelchair and monitoring her mobility. She cannot do stairs, but would be happy with a ramp.

Additional adoption info

Please visit www.hopeanimals.org/adopt to learn more about our adoption process and to complete an adoption application.

Adoption Fee includes spay/neuter*, microchipping, up-to-date vaccinations, and current heartworm and flea/tick preventatives.

*If pet is not old enough to be spayed or neutered prior to adoption, a $50.00 credit will be paid to your vet at the time of surgery.

We require a veterinary reference for current pet owners, and pets must be up to date on vaccines and heartworm preventative. We meet potential adopters in their homes and introduce the pets to the family's current pets to see if it is a good match. A copy of our adoption contract can be requested via email.
