My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Miss Molly is a beautiful, rare female orange lady looking for her furrever home! She is around two years old and came to her foster family as a trapped community cat that had just given birth to her babies. The shelter was going to euthanize her and her babies due to space issues, but Molly and her kittens got a second, well-deserved, chance at life with BTKR!

You can’t tell that she used to live outdoors, as she is the most calm, peaceful cat ever upon arrival to her foster home. She’s been a great mommy to her four babies and now it’s time for her to continue on to her own adventures!

Molly absolutely loves to play!! She would do so well with another adult cat with a playful spirit. She loves her springs and balls but has a special affinity for feathers! She ADORES her feather wand and will chase it for hours. She also loves her laser light and would do quite well with a tall cat tree to climb and relax in.

She does well with families and tolerates children well but would do better in a home with adults or older kids/teens that would respect her needs for quiet relaxation. She loves her private window gazing time and often naps in the window so she can wake up and gaze. She loves to watch the world out of the window, especially the birds! She loves to observe but loves to be near her human as well. She loves to chat and will absolutely melt your heart when she uses her big, beautiful eyes to ask you for treats and her soft food! She loves seafood shreds and chunks and treats. She doesn’t really react to catnip but will always play with a good catnip toy.

She likes to sleep in soft places near her person or simply in a cuddly, quiet spot. She’s not really a lap cat and doesn’t really like to be picked up for cuddles, but she always loves her pets and back scratches. She is very patient and observant and her silly, playful kitten demeanor really shines once she warms up to you. She is shy at first but once you win her trust, you’ve got a friend for life! She is an absolute sweetheart and would make a great addition to any home, especially a home with another playful, good natured adult cat.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

We have an adoption application to learn a bit about the home our cats will be going to and the family's motivation for adoption and expectations about pet ownership. We also have an adoption contract, which includes a no declawing and indoor-only clause along with a vet promissory note that ensures you will continue with the medical care and spay/neuter if needed.

We DO NOT do any out of state adoptions except on the NC border on a case-by-case basis.

We require a donation of $120 for adoption of unaltered kittens with a PTV Contract. All kittens receive vaccine series and wormings as well as medical treatment as needed. The adopter is responsible for obtaining their rabies vaccine and spay/neuter if the kitten is not of age at the time of adoption. We can provide resources for low cost clinics that offer these services.

We ask a donation of $25 to adopt Career/barn cats.

We require a donation of at least $140 for adoption of Spayed/neutered cat.

Bonded pairs adoption donation is $200.

Sometimes we require rental checks or home inspections. We always have a Meet n Greet to make sure everyone gets along. We encourage bringing the whole family!

More about this rescue

Our mission is to improve the lives of displaced cats and reduce feral cat population in Hampton Roads by socializing outdoor-born and feral kittens for adoption into loving forever homes. We are a VDACS registered 501c3 nonprofit, founded in 2014 with over 60 foster homes.

Our heart is in TNR (Trap, Neuter, Return of ferals), where cats are fixed, vaccinated, ear tipped, and allowed to live out their lives without reproducing. We are advocates for advancing legal and social acceptance of TNR in Hampton Roads. Our unique feral kitten socialization program has a 90% success rate in socializing feral-born kittens to become loving, in-home pets.

We are always seeking fosters, volunteers, transporters, and trappers to join our team!
