My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Turtle is a domestic shorthsir who was originally brought into our care in May of 2022 and was adopted in June of that year but, has since been returned this August due to stress behaviors in the home. Turtle is a very active and sweet girl who loves to chirp at you and follow you around for affection or play time! Turtle has lived with dogs before and currently is housed at our shelter with other cats but she will need a very slow introduction to whatever resident pet she will be meeting to ensure that they get a chance to adjust to each other confidently. turtle would be a great addition to any semi-active family!

If you are interested in meeting Turtle, please submit an application at www.valleyanimal.org

At Valley Animal Center our mission is to unite dogs and cats with loving people.

More about this shelter

Valley Animal Center houses thousands of dogs and cats annually until they are placed in loving homes. Majority of our shelter animals are rescued from local animal control agencies who have no more space for their animals. Even animals who have been abused, mistreated, abandoned, and injured are cared for and nurtured until a loving home is ready to adopt them.

We are easily accessible to the residents of the entire six-county region it serves. Even individuals from out of the area and out of state have come to Valley Animal Center to adopt animals from us and utilize our clinic services.

Our mission is to unite dogs and cat with loving people but it does not simply end at the adoption process. With our low-cost clinic, a membership-based dog park, and humane education resources found on our website, we want to ensure our community has easy access to resources that will help them along in their pet ownership journey.
