My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello let me introduce myself, I am Cleo, a handsome black cat with lots of personality. Don't let my "boxers nose" scare you away. Unfortunately I had been on the streets for awhile before I came to the shelter and then pick up by HPA. And I was placed in a cage which was very foreign to me and I wanted out and the only way I could figure to handle the situation was to butt it with my nose and consequencely I rubbed the hair and skin off causing a skin burn. I am now healing and praying that the hair grows back so that no one is afraid to adopt me and provide me a furever home. I am a gentle giant who loves to be held and petted. My foster has labs and adult cats and we all get along.
I am so looking forward to being someone's special cat and who will keep me inside, safe and not in a cage. Come meet me and see what a great cat companion I can be.

Submit Application

Whether you're interested in a specific pet or not, fill out our application online at houstonpetsalive.org.

Meet the Pet

Once your application is approved, a meet and greet will be set up between you and your pet of interest.

3.
Sign Adoption Contract

If the meet and greet goes well and your adoption application is approved, you will sign the adoption contract.

4.
Pay Fee

Once the adoption contract is signed, you will pay the adoption fee.

5.
Take the Pet Home

Bring your new best friend home! Remember that it will take some time for him/her to adjust to their new environment.
