My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Holli!

She is a beautiful, happy-go-lucky girl!  Holli is a fast learner and wants to please.  Holli does need her exercise and enrichment needs met, and once she does, she's also a great snuggle buddy! She is a big puppy and would do best in a home without young kids as she is still working through the puppy energy and doesn't always understand her size.

She does great with dogs, however due to her size if placed with a small dog, it would need to be a confident and great corrector. She currently listens great to a small rat terrier and chihuahua but will push and stress less confident small dogs.  She is great at listening to cues but again, she doesn't realize her size.

She has exposure to cats and does great with them as well.   Holli is housebroken, crate trained, does walk well on a leash and seems to like everyone she's met.  Whatever we throw at Holli, she just takes it in stride.  She truly is an awesome dog and we never would have thought she'd still be with us as long as she has been!

She is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, has been on a current deworming schedule and has her stomach tacked.  Holli does require Natural Balance Salmon & Brown Rice Recipe, one of the reasons she was surrendered was due to her stomach and not finding a food that worked for her, after trying many foods, it is something that is working for her.  Her food is roughly $150 a month.

If you are interested in Holli, please fill out an application on our website and a volunteer will be in touch.  https://foreverfido.org/adoptable-dogs/ If you email us through Adopt-A-Pet, you will be directed to do so before we speak with you.  You will save time completing the application first.

Our adoption fee also covers post-adoption support, discounted classes, boarding and daycare.  Please see our adoptable dogs page for more information.

Additional adoption info

The dogs in our care will be adopted out with an updated vet exam, they will be up to date on their rabies (if of age), and DHPP. All dogs will also be microchipped and dewormed. If they are of age, they will also be altered. We do not do pediatric spays or neuters so a deposit is required at the time of adoption, once the dog is altered, the deposit will be returned.

Due to the American Veterinary Medical Association's recommendation to not spay/neuter dogs under 6 or 12 months depending on breed and our vets recommendation. Large-breed puppies under 6-months will not be altered prior to adoption but do require a deposit that will be returned once your dog is altered. Small breed and adults that are 6-months or older, will be done prior to adoption.

During the time spent at Forever Fido, all dogs will be socialized with many confident and social dogs of all ages, safely interact with kids of many ages, appropriately meet a variety of humans, start potty and crate training, and begin basic puppy manners including impulse control.
