My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Shaw loves everyone and everything! He was a victim of animal cruelty and was seized by law enforcement as a puppy. Unfortunately Shaw was considered evidence in his previous owner's trial so Shaw had to live at a holding facility until sentencing was complete. He spent the majority of his puppyhood confined to a dog run so now he's ready for ADVENTURE! Understandably, Shaw has a lot of energy right now and loves to play! The one thing that will stop him in his tracks is love. He's desperate for human attention and will do anything to get a belly rub and a snuggle.
Shaw has never had a loving owner, lived inside of a home or had anything more than his most basic needs met. He's looking for a patient adopter that will understand that he's still learning how to be a cherished companion and is willing to spend the time to teach him that not all humans are scary and neglectful. He would do best in a home with slightly older kids and/or adults as he's still a very exuberant puppy and may knock small children over.

More about this rescue

After dogs are seized by law enforcement in relation to animal cruelty they're required to stay in a holding facility until their previous owner has been sentenced. This can be months or years. After sentencing, the dogs are no longer considered evidence and have a very short amount of time to find placement before being killed. Our organization strives to find responsible placements for all dogs involved in cruelty court cases and eliminate euthanasia for adoptable animals.
