My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Young Frodo, an incorruptible soul. So incorruptible and pure you might even send him on a daunting journey to the eye of Sauron to dispose of an evil ring…. Or maybe you could take him on a long walk and give him lots of treats?! Frodo would be fine with either because he is ready for any adventure! Frodo is a fun-loving and energetic 6-year-old dog. He enjoys walking and playing with toys. While he has a young spirit, he is also good at listening to corrections. He is already a sweet dog, but consistent training will turn him into the best companion! We expect training with treats to go well since he’s so food motivated. Frodo loves treats, and toys, and people, and if you combine them altogether you will make his day. Stop by and meet him - his big ears and great personality will steal your heart.

Before a visit, you must have a completed and approved application

Meet the Pet

If you decide on the pet you meet, they will be put in for a pre-adoption vet check. It can take up to a week for your pet to come home.

So you’re ready to add a family member to your home! Well you’re at the right place! To begin, you can view our animals available for adoption online, but there’s nothing like the real thing. We welcome you to come to our shelter and spend some time getting to know our animals in person.

To start off, please review the adoption guidelines below to speed up the adoption process:

1. Applicants must be at least 21 years old.

2. All adoption applications must be filled out completely.

3. An adoption application must be completed before any animal can be taken out for a visit. No animal will be taken out for a visit prior to this time.

4. You will need picture ID, with name and current address, to photo copy onto your application.

5. Any animal on a HOLD cannot be taken out for a visit until its holding time is up and it is available for adoption.

6. All dogs MUST be licensed with your Town prior to leaving the CNYSPCA, ask adoption counselor for further details.
