My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Thank you for your interest in dog who needs a new home.  Adoption can be one of the most fulfilling experiences in your life and especially in the life of your new canine companion.

A note to those looking at CPR.  We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone.  Our job is to find those someone's.  Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog.  They come to us because they want to give a dog a home.  We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture.  While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face.  Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home.  We want to create furever families.

Our descriptions contain all that we know about this dog today.  We'll update as more information is known.

Are you looking to adopt within the next 30 days?  If so please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and complete the application.  You'll find it in the menu on the left hand side.  You'll also find a total listing of all our dogs available.

Just browsing but interested in poodles and poodle mixes?  Please drop a note to applications@carolinapoodlerescue.org with your name, address and phone # and email.  We'll add you to our mailing list.

thanks

Date into Rescue: 07/12/24
Reason for being in rescue: Beauty was surrendered by her owners to a NC shelter, no reason given. Carolina Poodle Rescue pulled her from the shelter.
Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC
Special Needs? Beauty is spayed, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative.
Weight: 34.5 lbs
Height: 22 in
Spayed/Neutered: Yes

Adoption Fee: $599

Fence needed? Yes, Beauty requires a physically fenced yard with fencing 4 feet or taller.

What kind of home would be best for me? Beauty is a young playful girl. She is ready to experience life to its fullest and prepared for whatever is tossed her way. A tennis ball or new friends, Beauty is ready for it all! She absolutely adores her four-legged pals, and we know that Beauty would benefit from a furry companion! We think Beauty would do wonderfully with children, and we know she would love following them around the house or backyard. And on those long boring weekends she would love walks in the woods, or at the lake. Some time in the back yard playing with toys sounds like a great bonding experience to her. She just wants someone to play with, human and animal!

We will not place Beauty in a home with cats. While she will ignore them as long as they are still, as soon  as they move she is interested. Too interested. We don't think it is in the best interest of your cat or Beauty to place her into a home with a cat. Beauty walks well on a lead, but will need pointers if 'heel' or other leash queues are desired!

Puppies are always in need of a canine friend, they love to run and play with one another. Puppies are active, agile little babies, they need homes that are ready to tire them out both mentally and physically, so a fenced in yard will be required. Puppies are generally very well rounded dogs, they do not meet strangers and would do well with a nice big family or a single owner! What matters most to a puppy is a happy and excited owner ready to take on loving and training their new puppy! When raised around cats, with proper boundaries, puppies do very well. If you expect your puppy to get alone with your feline buddy, it’s important to start socializing the puppy with the cat as soon as you can!

What is my personality like? Saccharine. Beauty is absolutely the embodiment of a 'sweetheart' a 'baby-doll.' She is always happy; she is always ready for the next best thing. Living with only the best outlook on life Beauty can teach us all a little something about just living. She is a loving gentle soul with a fun and playful side, and she is ready to teach you how to feel the same!

Beauty wants to play all day long, she just can't help it. There is so much to see and so much to do in her busy little life! Beauty has an extremely sweet disposition and along with wanting to play, she just wants love. One of her caregivers remembers when she first arrived at CPR.  "When Beauty first came to CPR, she was sick. She had this cough and man you could just tell she didn't feel good. I chose to sit outside with her one afternoon and she just wanted to curl up in my lap. Nudging her head against me and leaning the full weight of her body on me. She'd only known me for a couple of days." Beauty is a love bug among all of her happy go nature, and she just wants to receive the love she gives! She trusts with her heart on her sleeve and she gives everything once she meets you!

How do I act when I first meet new people? We say it a lot about our babies at CPR, but Beauty has NEVER met a stranger! She greets everyone with a smiling face and the fastest wag to her tail. Walking up to you and quite literally trying to become a part of your skin, Beauty loves everyone she meets. Beauty will melt into your touch the moment you pet her, and she will still want more!

Other tips and tidbits: According to records provided by the shelter, Beauty's birthday is 09/05/23

House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.

Please note - we do not ship dogs.  If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip.  Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina.

To apply, please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application.

Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home.   You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc.  Others here may be a better fit for you.  It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description.  Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a  dog not in our listings yet.  We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you.

Thank you for considering CPR.
