My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Andy! A 2 year old, 65lbs lab mix. Andy is friendly, good with everyone and gets along with other dogs and cats too! He has a sweet temperament, obedient, and won't react to noises or doorbell. He is house trained, leash trained and good in public! He loves adventures and will jump right in the car when you open the door! He's always happy to join you on a long walk or hike but he's just as content spending a relaxing day inside. He has a deep understanding of his surroundings and grasps the emotions and actions of those around him. This perceptive guy can read situations and respond accordingly. He's smart and love treats and so is highly trainable. He loves people and wants to follow you, but he will just sit nearby or take a nap. He might cry when you leave the room, but he is learning to trust you will be back. The ideal home for him is one where someone will be home most of the day. This big teddy bear is affectionate, tail always wagging, and has so much love to give.

If you are looking for a calm, sweet, loyal companion, look no further! To meet Andy, fill out an online application at http://caws.org/adoption-application. Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process. All CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. His adoption fee is $200. Additional adoption info

Since we make a lifetime commitment to any animal that comes into our program, we only adopt out animals to people in our area..

If you are interested in adopting a CAWS cat or dog, please fill out the online application at http://www.caws.org/application/, email adopt@caws.org or call 328-4731. For the most timely response applying online is recommended.

We respond as quickly as possible but as we are a volunteer based organization and do not have full time staff, we respond as quickly as possible.

Go meet their pets

CAWS does not have a conventional shelter facility - all CAWS animals waiting for adoption are in foster homes. The number of animals we can help find new homes for is closely linked to how many CAWS foster homes are available. For additional information regarding how you, too, can become a foster, please see our fostering page located on our web site!

CAWS volunteers bring cats and dogs to the PetSmart near 2100 South and 300 West in South Salt Lake on the third and fourth weekends of each month

We are also at the Sugarhouse PETCO (1165 Wilmington Ave) the first Saturday of each month.
