This is our sweet Beemer, hit by a car , he was in pretty bad shape and unable to stand up he had sustained multiple fractures in his back legs

our surgeon said one leg could be repaired the other probably not, and he had heartworms, so after having the one back leg plated, the other amputated and completing his heartworm treatment, Beemer is now ready for his final home !!

he is the sweetest dog ,always happy.. loves to be where his foster is and follows her everywhere, he gets around really well as a Tripod ..is house trained, loves his dog bed and will curl up in a comfy one and sleep, we have no idea of his breed mix ,but probably has some Terrier and maybe Beagle in him, he’s a really handsome boy, he doesn’t interact with the other dogs but gets along with them , and the other dogs love to snuggle up to him when sleeping, he would be fine as an only dog or with a buddy, he is approx 4 years old and 21 lbs , he does have Microphthalmia, which is one eye that does not grow and remains small, its usually a disorder related to development , it doesn't bother him its just non functioning , luckily the other eye is perfect !!
he is going to make a really wonderful companion for someone

The total adoption fee of $400 ( also includes ,spay/neuter, shots including rabies, bordatella, parvo, distemper ,canine influenza, and microchip. The total amount is payable to Shaggy Dog Rescue which is a 501c3. Some of our dogs are still in Texas in foster care. Our application is online at

We require all adopters to fill out an initial application so that we can check references. We try to match our dogs with a family that fits the needs and individuality of our homeless pets. We work tirelessly to find the right homes with people who will love their pets for a lifetime. We do this through email, phone, and any other means of communication to ensure a good fit.
