Here's what the humans have to say about me:
BIG News: Tiny hs an adoption pending ! Meet Tiny!! Tiny is a 4 1/2 yr old Lab/Pit mix weighing 62 lbs. Tiny has a very SAD story. On June 1st Tiny was taken to Paws by the Lake Pet Resort for one week boarding by his owner and he was NEVER picked up!! Tiny was abandoned at Paws ;-(. Fast forward over 11 weeks, Paws has done everything required by law to try and reunite Tiny, but his owner does not want him back! As we approach 3 months of poor Tiny in boarding, Paws reached out to Love-A-Stray to take Tiny into our rescue program. They did not want Tiny to end up at the overcrowded Lorain County Kennel so of course we said we would take him in. We had him neutered and his vaccinations updated and the growth next to his eye removed. He is a really sweet dog! Tiny is clean in his kennel, so he is house-trained, crate-trained. He knows basic commands (sit, stay, down). Tiny really deserves someone that will love him and NEVER abandon him! We are searching for a forever home or a temporary foster home so he can leave Paws. Paws is a wonderful topnotch facility, but 3 months is just way too long for any dog in boarding!! We have a trainer visiting Tiny next week for a complete evaluation but based on his behavior and interaction with the staff at Paws, who has spent a lot of time with Tiny, he is a wonderful boy! Tiny also does well with his 4 legged friend at Paws-Cooper, so we know Tiny is dog friendly ;-) .
If you are interested in Tiny, please submit an online application so we can learn a little about you to make sure Tiny would be a good match for you and your family. We do not do out of state adoptions, due to our trial adoption process. Adoption fee/donation is $100.00
If you have specific questions, please email the adoption coordinator at info@loveastraydog.com If you can't foster or adopt, please consider donating to help us with medical expenses and ongoing care. You can mail your donation to: Love-A-Stray, P.O. Box 125, Attn: Tiny, Avon Lake, OH 44012 or visit www.loveastraydog.com for credit card/PayPal information, adoption application, available dogs and upcoming events. Thank you!

Meet the Pet
We do not have a physical facility. A meet and greet will be scheduled with a Love-A-Stray Volunteer, the dog, and our interested adopters.
Additional adoption info
Love-A-Stray is a non-profit all volunteer rescue group with most of our volunteers also having full time jobs, so we do the best we can to answer all inquires as soon as possible.
We ask that you complete our adoption application, so we can lean a little bit about you to ensure we can help find your perfect match.
Please do not ask us to ship our dogs out of state. WE DO NOT SHIP! We require adopters to fill out an adoption form and agree to the terms of our adoption contract. All pets are spay/neutered and vaccinated.
In addition to looking on the website, we show many of our rescued dogs at regular adoption events. Check out our upcoming events for the next opportunity to meet some of our dogs in person.

More about this rescue
Love-A-Stray is a non-profit, all volunteer, no-kill organization dedicated to helping homeless animals.
Since Love-A-Stray doesn't have a "physical" shelter and our animals are housed in foster homes, we do not have some of the usual operating expenses that would be required for a shelter. Consequently adoption fees, fundraising efforts, and donations go directly to a great cause - the animals! Our four fold mission is to:
1. Lessen pet overpopulation by sterilizing adoptable animals and employing aggressive low-cost spay/neuter programs in an effort to provide financial assistance for families who otherwise would not be able to sterilize their pet.
2. Offer housing for unwanted, homeless animals and when necessary, provide medical treatment including emergency veterinary care.
3. Value the life of all rescue animals by providing innovative behavior rehabilitation, when applicable, and placing them from nurturing foster families into loving, compatible, permanent homes.
4. Educate the public on the importance of being an advocate for animals emphasizing humane treatment and sterilization.
