My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
This pet was brought in by a community member.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Delicate is a classic gentle giant. With her affectionate and soft personality, she is sure to win your heart! Just be prepared for a workout because this gal is STRONG. She leans in hard for pets and she wants lots of pets. She will want lots of space and outdoor time. She is learning to not pull hard when being walked and she is improving with that. She needs a dog savvy home where people can be positive and consistent about training her. She is smart and treat motivated so the training should come easy. We can help you with tips for helping Delicate be a well trained sweetie. Want to learn more about Delicate? Speak to one of our adoption counselors today!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
