Are you looking for a friendly little pup who deserves a loving home? We’re pleased to introduce Mama Prego!

Prego didn’t have the best life before coming to Hero. At about one and a half years old, some awful human abandoned her at a local dog park when she was very pregnant. Thankfully, Hero and a very kind hearted foster took her in, and she promptly gave birth to 8 precious puppies! She was a wonderful Mama and raised her babies well. They have all been adopted and are in their forever homes. She’s more than done her part caring for others. Now it’s her turn to find her own loving family, and live the life she so deserves and has earned. And don’t worry, it will be better than a two way street, as this sweetheart is SO, SO loving and will let you know it!

Mama Prego is now just over two years old, and at around 40 pounds is fully grown. This girl loves, loves, loves her people and just wants to be with them. She is good with older kids and other dogs when introduced properly. She’s a happy girl, despite her tough start, and will fit in nicely and quickly to her future home and family. She knows to potty outside, is good in her crate, and hardly makes a peep. She’s still working on some of her manners – she has been known to jump up a little because she is just so darn happy to see you. She’s smart and wants to please, so will continue to get better and better with a family who will spend time with her and help her become the best dog she can be. She does seem to enjoy chasing cats, so would do best in a home without them.

This loving, sweet, good girl has medium energy and is very friendly. She loves to walk on a leash and play outside (fenced yard ideally), but has just as much fun snuggling on the couch or chilling out by your feet. As long as she gets to be with her peeps, that’s really all that matters, as she wants to love you at least as much as she wants to be loved by you.

Your Current Pets - We do require that your current dogs and cats are current on vaccines and spayed/neutered.

Adoptions - We do not have a shelter and are a foster-home based organization. We do require that you have an approved adoption application to schedule a meet and greet. You can fill out an adoption application on our website, www.herorescue.org/adopt. Once your application is approved it will be sent to the foster family that is currently caring for the dog. They will be able to provide information on likes, dislikes, personality, etc. They will also schedule a time for you to meet the dog. We do require a home visit prior to adoption.
