Clara was found as an injured stray at only 4-months old. Her tail was broken, her back legs were weak and she was left incontinent–plus she was incredibly malnourished. She was taken to the county shelter and set to be euthanized due to her medical issues and injuries likely caused by severe trauma she had endured. We knew we had to save this precious little girl, get her whatever medical care she needed and give her the opportunity to heal and experience a real life of love.
With intense physical therapy and a dedicated, loving foster, Clara has shown herself to be a brave girl who is as loving as she is resilient! Her back legs have been regaining strength, while she has put on much-needed weight. Her entire body wiggles back and forth when she sees her people, and she absolutely loves to cuddle and play.
Clara is crate-trained, walks well on a leash and does well with people and children of all ages. She knows to go potty outside but has some leakage due to partial incontinence that is best managed with diapers.
Clara enjoys walks, playing with toys, chasing birds and cats and cuddles with her favorite people. She can be vocal if left all alone at home but a doggy friend to keep her company makes all the difference to her! Ultimately, what Clara really hopes to find is a family that will shower her with love, spoil her with toys and let her romp + roll in the grass, forever cherished + adored.
Clara knows that her sweet disposition and charming underbite more than make up for the extra TLC our special girl will need from her forever family! Clara’s adoption fee includes completed veterinary exams, vaccines, microchip and spay. Apply to meet this sweet soul, and we promise she'll have you wrapped around her finger in no time! We are going to be highly selective about who adopts our dogs. Our adoption agreements have extensive guidelines and requirements regarding the care and handling of our dog from the time of adoption through the rest of the pet's life. If we do not feel that the home is a perfect fit for our dog or if we are not confident the potential adopters are capable of upholding our strict care guidelines, we will not adopt our dog to them.
