My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hey there, I'm Molly, a nearly 9-year-old black American Pit Bull/Terrier Mix, weighing in at 55 pounds of pure joy and energy! I'm super active and still jump up and down when it's mealtime-I just can't help myself!

I've had good training, am housebroken, and great on a leash. I recently tried my paw at agility training and loved it-I was a natural! I'm quick to learn, whether it's navigating an agility course or following commands like come, sit, lay down, stay, leave it, and off.

I'm happiest when I'm running, walking, or cuddling up on the couch with a blanket. I love chasing sticks, balls, and frisbees, and I have a silly side too. Clap your hands and say my name, and I'll run in circles and jump around just to make you smile.

Right now, I live with two other dogs, but one has gotten food aggressive so that has become a problem. I'm on a special diet because I'm allergic to pork and fish. I've lived with kids and do well with them, though I can get a bit excited, so I need some supervision.

I'm looking for a home with a big yard or property where I can run to my heart's content. I haven't been socialized much with new dogs, so I might do best as the only dog or with a more submissive friend. I'm always happy, bouncy, and super sweet with people. If you're looking for an active, loving companion, I'm your girl!

Their adoption process

1.

Submit Application

From the adoptable dogs page on our website, click on dogs photo to open their profile then, click on the gray "apply to adopt" button.

2.

Approve Application

We review all applications as they come in, but our process is not “first come, first served.”

3.

Interview

If your home suits the dog's needs, we'll call you to discuss your application and ask any follow-up questions.

4.

Meet the Pet

If it is determined that you and dog might be a good fit a meet and greet will be arranged.

5.

Take the Pet Home

If the meet and greet goes well then you would sign a preliminary adoption agreement and start a 2-week trial adoption.

6.

Sign Adoption Contract

After your 2-week trial if you decide you want to finalize the adoption we will send you a link to sign the final agreement and pay the fee.

7.

Pay Fee

Our single dog adoption fee is $200 and our bonded pair fee is $220. We do offer a 10% discount for folks over 60 and military veterans.

Go meet their pets

We are a foster-based, volunteer-driven rescue. All SDRO dogs available for adoption are listed on our website. The listing includes information to help you decide if one of our dogs is right for your household. If you are interested in adopting a dog, please complete an online application. If your home suits the dog's needs, we'll call you to discuss your application and ask any follow-up questions. Our experienced adoption coordinator will discuss the dog’s needs with you to help determine if your home is the right fit. Since we do not operate a shelter and all our dogs are in foster care, a meet-and-greet will be your first opportunity to meet the dog face-to-face.
