This helps Malinois and Dutch Shepherd Rescue, Inc. with pet care costs.
Abby is a gorgeous Belgian Malinois and Dutch Shepherd mix with a stunning dark brindle coat who was dumped in Miami while heavily pregnant. She was picked up off the street by a wonderful woman who helped Abby deliver her ten puppies safely. Abby was a fantastic mom but is now ready to be a pup again!
Nicknamed "Sweet Abby Girl" by her foster family, she’s as affectionate as she is beautiful. Abby craves attention and enjoys being showered with love.
True to her breed, Abby is a high-energy dog with a strong prey drive and a keen motivation for food. She’s currently working with a specialized dog trainer to help her reach her full potential. Abby has already mastered some skills, including:
Abby is thriving in her structured foster home, where she enjoys her training sessions, supervised play with other dogs and exploring the backyard. When she is outside, Abby sniffs every corner, watches the squirrels and birds with keen interest and always makes time for relaxing in the sun. Abby recently discovered the joy of playing with a ball and, although she doesn't know how to fetch, she enjoys chasing a ball and pawing at it.
Abby has been tested around cats and, although she is relaxed around them, she is still curious. Abby has also been around children and does not mind them at all. She truly just wants to be present with those around her. While she hasn’t been tested around livestock or horses, her trainer believes that, with some additional training, she’ll adapt well to farm life with other animals.
Abby is looking for a family that can continue reinforcing her training and is ready for a dog that tends to test boundaries, especially when it comes to ear scratches and belly rubs.
If you’re looking for a loyal and energetic companion who will fill your life with joy, activity and a constantly wagging tail, Abby might just be the perfect match for you!
