My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Loves: The Resilient & Sweet Lab/Pointer Mix Ready for Her Forever Home! 🐾

This is Loves, a brave and spunky 2-year-old Lab/Pointer mix with a heart full of love and a story of resilience. She was abandoned at a Loves gas station in Texas and survived on her own for four months before giving birth to 12 beautiful puppies. All but one of her puppies have found homes, and now it’s Loves' turn to find her forever family.

Here’s what makes Loves special:

--- Sweet & Spunky: Loves has blossomed with us, showing off her playful, affectionate personality. She’s full of life and ready to make up for lost time!

--- Dog-Friendly: After proper introductions, she’s good with dogs and enjoys their company.

--- Kid Tolerant: Loves is okay with kids, though she prefers a quieter environment. She’s never been aggressive but seems more comfortable without children around.

--- House & Crate Trained: She’s got her house manners down and is crate trained, making her a great fit for a home that’s ready to continue her training journey.

--- No Cats: Loves is not a fan of cats and would do best in a home without them.

Loves still has some puppy-like behaviors (she missed out on some playtime in her early years), so she’ll need a family that’s willing to continue her training and understands her unique, spirited personality.

We’re looking for a home with a decent-sized yard where Loves can enjoy the space she deserves. While a fence isn’t required, she’s a talented jumper and can clear a 4' fence, so supervision is a must! Given her background and her love for space and freedom, she’s not suited for an apartment or condo.

Loves has had a rough start in life, but she’s ready to live her best life with a family who can offer her the love, patience, and room to run that she deserves. Could that be you?

Come meet Loves today and give this amazing girl the happy ending she’s been waiting for! 🏡❤️

Additional adoption info

The dogs in our care will be adopted out with an updated vet exam, they will be up to date on their rabies (if of age), and DHPP. All dogs will also be microchipped and dewormed. If they are of age, they will also be altered. We do not do pediatric spays or neuters so a deposit is required at the time of adoption, once the dog is altered, the deposit will be returned.

Due to the American Veterinary Medical Association's recommendation to not spay/neuter dogs under 6 or 12 months depending on breed and our vets recommendation. Large-breed puppies under 6-months will not be altered prior to adoption but do require a deposit that will be returned once your dog is altered. Small breed and adults that are 6-months or older, will be done prior to adoption.

During the time spent at Forever Fido, all dogs will be socialized with many confident and social dogs of all ages, safely interact with kids of many ages, appropriately meet a variety of humans, start potty and crate training, and begin basic puppy manners including impulse control.
