My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

The cold doesn't bother Antilla

Antilla is a young, vibrant husky waiting to stake her claim on your heart! At only 1 year old, Antilla is looking for a forever home with older kids/teens and dogs! Antilla did well meeting other dogs and is very playful. Her silly personality would be great for another fun loving dog! Antilla prefers a home without cats.

She is pretty active, had a fantastic behavioral evaluation and is very nice with everyone she meets! Utd on vaccines, spayed and only 50lbs, Antilla is ready to be adopted!

Applications can be filled out in person or online- ahscares.org/adopt
**next steps after applying online will be for your family to come in and meet the pet you have interest in**

Individuals wishing to adopt an animal from our shelter must complete an adoption application and provide proof of home ownership or, if you are a renter, you must provide a copy of your lease or a notarized letter from your landlord stating pets are permitted. You must be at least 21 years of age to adopt any animal from our shelter. We reserve the right to refuse any adoption. In some instances, a home visit may be required. Our fees vary depending on the age and breed of the animal. Typically, a mix breed is $110.00 and a purebreed is $150.00 and up. There is also an altering charge of $85.00 for a male and $95.00 for a female. All animals receive vaccines, microchip identification, frontline treatments.

Go meet their pets

We are opened 7 days a week between the hours of 12:00-5:00pm for adoptions. No appt is necessary and we welcome prospective adopters to bring their current pet for a meet and greet with one of our orphans.
We hold offsite adoption events throughout the year. Please visit our Facebook page AHS-Newark Branch & our volunteer page, Friends of Associated Humane Newark Shelter.
