My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Wild Watermelon is a big, sweet senior who came to us from another shelter. He spent his first 7 years chained up in a back yard so he is looking for a special family who will help him learn what it's like to be a member of a family. He likes other dogs but isn't terribly playful. (He doesn't seem to have ever had a canine friend or have ever had a toy to play with). He's a good boy but no one has ever taught him anything so he'll need someone to help him learn the basics. He has a big heart with a lot of love to give and wants nothing more than a person of his own to love! Update from his foster: "He is gentle with children. Gets along great with the resident dog. Appears to be house broken. Doesn't bark and is not destructive!" All our adoptable dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots before adoption.
