Hydra was rescued by a very kind citizen who had recently learned about Palomacy's work and the magic of pigeons. This kind citizen saw a post in the Palomacy Help Group about a lone pigeon hanging out on the sidewalk. Noticing the address wasn't too far from her home, she decided to go see if she couldn't find and help this bird in need. Between the Palomacy Help Group, the time that Palomacy volunteers had spent talking to the kind community member about pigeons, the rescuer's kindness, and probably a good deal of luck, the stars aligned in Hydra's favor and he was brought to safety by the kind helper. His wing was obviously broken, so, the next day, a volunteer brought him to Medical Center for Birds, where it was determined that he had an open fracture, two ulcers, and an infection; the best option was to amputate. Hydra's wing was amputated the next day, and he received her powerful name from his vet, inspired by the idea that Hydra will come back from his injuries as strong as ever. Hydra is flourishing in his safe, loved life in foster care, where he has shown himself to be a very dancy and curious fellow. He's strong and charming, and will someday make an amazing family member for an adoptive home. Please apply to adopt http://www.pigeonrescue.org/birds/apply-to-foster-or-adopt/
