There was once a young 2 month old impressionable puppy, adopted to what we felt was going to be a good home for him. Well as Sam got even bigger the little dog in the home felt it was his job to be the boss so to speak. This happened over and over until Sam finally said enough and defended himself. But instead of teaching the first dog as well as Sam to coexist with each other, Sam was abandoned. Yes he was given away to the first person who offered to help with no regards to Sam at all. Thankfully this person reached out to us once she realized he was an SPR doggy. Sam was never given the chance at his first home simply put, and after all he went thru his dislike/distrust of other dogs is how he is now sadly. Instead of being a well rounded dog who could go to dog parks or something like that, Sam actually has a fear of other dogs and relies on people only now. He adores people and bonds quicky and fast to them, he simply wants to be the only one is all. He is your typical lazy boy who prefers to sleep on the couch all day then run around much, lol. He is a big boy around 80# and a land hippo is what this breed is often referred to as :) Sam is a big boy just over 3 years old, a very solid boy with a big squishy face to squeeze and love on. He would love to finally have a real forever home with people to dote on him and show him he is worth it. He would benefit from a fenced in yard, and perhaps some walks to keep him in shape. He is fully house trained and kennel trained and is just a GOOD boy who loves hard. Will someone give him the home he deserves ? If you feel like you could be the one to show this big boy the best life an online application can be found at Sandipaws.org, his adoption fee is $100 Thank you for your interest in a Sandi Paws Rescue, Inc. Please visit our site at sandipaws.org for more information on our organization or to fill out an application to adopt one of our pets. You can find information for volunteering on our site as well.

A successful adoption depends on the selection of the right pet for your household and your understanding of your responsibility of adopting a rescued animal. Our adoption procedures have been designed to make sure all rescued Sandi Paws pets are placed in an appropriate, loving forever home, and to make sure all adopters find the right fit for their family. Prior to adoption, all dogs and cats will be given all age-appropriate vaccinations, including rabies, kennel cough, parvo and distemper, spaying/neutering, intestinal deworming, heartworm testing/treatment, microchipping, and monthly heartworm medication and flea prevention.
Note: We will adopt pets outside of Wisconsin if we can do necessary background and reference checks and the adopters agree to provide necessary follow up information. Also, the adopting family must agree to travel to pick up the pet and agree to transport them back to Wisconsin if they need to be returned at any time.
