My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Tika Biography

Tika is a very special gal, and a success story.  She showed up at my back door along with her Mama and brother when 5 months old. Two and half years old now, she has beat the odds, the only surviving member of her family and transformed from feral to domesticated feline.  Once she caught on that there is a better life than sleeping outside in inclement weather and constantly on the lookout for the scary critters in the woods, she was a convert.

She is a tortie without the ‘tude, a smart, personable and pretty lass, playful but not rambunctious, affectionate and loving though not highly demanding of attention.  Happy to entertain herself most of the time, just hang out near me (or tucked behind me on the desk chair), watch the world go by from the patio, or nap under a bush.  At night, she loves to snuggle up either in her cat bed or next to me.  Tika has the softest, most delightful tiny meows, chirps and thrills, and a beautiful purr. She talks enough to let you know what’s on her mind. Amazingly, she was born naturally well-mannered.  No bad habits of  jumping on the kitchen counter, or damaging curtains, furniture.

She likes to come and go from the house during the day to the yard.  So she is best suited to a home with an enclosed patio (temporary or permanent), large enough to give her space to explore, perch and view nature.  If she can come and go via a cat door to and from the house to the enclosed patio, this is even better.  Being shy and a bit scared of strangers, She needs a quiet, low-key home with loving and caring people (one or two).  No dogs, and for now, no other cats.  She needs a safe, welcoming environment - inside at night, during severe weather, and well, just all the time!

More about this rescue

CLAWS is an incorporated 501(c)3 non-profit organization, operated 100% by volunteers with 30+ years of collective experience. We have a cooperative team of foster homes dedicated to rescue, fostering, healing, spay/neutering cats and kittens, then adopting them into forever homes where they are cherished family members for the rest of their lives.

CLAWS: Cats Lives Are Worth Saving is committed to investing our expertise and resources in order to further achieve our cause. Since 2018, we’ve been supporting our community in a variety of ways and measuring our success not by size, but by more qualitative measurements such as the scale and effectiveness of our efforts.
