My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Ariel was one of the many street dogs that Rome Texas every day. She was found by one of our Texas volunteers who was taking another dog to the vet for us the morning. Ariel was about to cross into a busy street. She was extremely malnourished and had what looks to be a tire Mark, or grease down the back of her spine. They said when they picked her up, she felt like she had bubble wrap around her.

We got her in to see a vet immediately where they confirmed that she had been tossed around by a car at least once. The bubbles under her skin with air that was released from her chest cavity. Thankfully, nothing was broken and all she needed was some TLC and crate rest.

We thought that was the end and she could be on her way to healing. We got her in to get spayed where we learned that she had pyometra, which is an infection in the uterus caused by multiple heat cycles in a dog. Basically because she had not been spayed early enough, her body had an infection.

we got her spayed and saved her life at the same time. This is why we encourage everyone to spay and neuter your pets.

Ariel is about three years old she loves to cuddle. Ariel does take a day or two to adjust to new dogs, but she is dog friendly. She prefers to be under the blankets with her human. Ariel is crate, trained and potty trained. She has had interactions with cats and does fine. She has no reactivity. Ariel is looking for a confirmed Adopter before she is able to be transported to us in Colorado.
