Bella is a high-energy dog who loves car rides, running, playing, and giving kisses. She’s affectionate once she warms up and would thrive in a home with a large fenced yard. Despite having only three legs, she is incredibly fast and would enjoy a high-energy playmate or kids to play with. Longer walks can be hard due to her front leg, but she does well with short 10-15 minute walks and would benefit from joint supplements and physical therapy. Bella also does well with calm, dog-experienced cats and is comfortable being crated when left alone.
Bella has separation anxiety. After 2-3 months of routine, she adjusts, realizing her owner would return daily, and her anxiety lessens. Now, she’s calm when left alone, as confirmed by neighbors and a camera, and has earned the comfort of a blanket in her kennel without tearing it. Bella still howls and barks, especially with new people, particularly men, which is being addressed in training classes.

We find loving, responsible, committed permanent homes. An in-depth adoption process is used. This includes taking considerable care in finding perfect matches and educating potential adopters about the responsibilities of bringing a dog, especially that particular dog, into their life. Applications may take several days to process and you may not hear from a UU Board member for up to a few weeks at most.

More about this rescue
Unforgettable Underdogs Dog Rescue is a volunteer run non-profit and no-kill dog rescue serving Northeast Wisconsin. We are dedicated to rescuing the underdogs, those who have found themselves homeless. We strive to help dogs in public high-kill shelters, abandoned or dogs being abused or neglected.
Dogs we care for are spayed or neutered, treated for any medical needs they have, and placed into loving foster homes until they find their permanent home. We aim to help dogs in need without discriminating against age or breed as space in foster homes permit. As our finances allow, we aim to take on the most underdog of the cases and help dogs in the most need.
