My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

“Because of the dog’s joyfulness, our own is increased." Adopting Curly will bring a lifetime of joy, fun and companionship!

Why we love Curly: His zest for life is truly a joy to see! Each day is an adventure he is eager to share with you!

Curly is one year old and weighs 52 pounds. He is so handsome with his shiny black coat, warm brown eyes and adorable doggy grin. Curly is such a such friendly, good natured and fun young dog!

Curly was shy when he first came to the shelter, but has blossomed with the care and attention from our dedicated staff and volunteers. We love spending time with him!

Curly is a very enthusiastic companion on daily walks. He is so interested in his surroundings as he enjoys the wonderful trails on our shelter grounds. Curly would be a fine hiking or running buddy, too. Curly has lots of energy and would love a home where he can get the exercise he needs.

Curly looks forward to outings in the fenced yard where he zooms around and has the best time! He also loves to splash around in the doggy pool. Long legged Curly is so agile and athletic! Curly also loves playing with the toys. Once he is finished, he likes to just chill out and have quality cuddle time.

Curly has really enjoyed meeting some of his fellow shelter companions in play groups. If you have another dog, we do require a meet and greet to ensure compatibility.

Curly is very treat motivated and should do well with training.

**We wanted to pay tribute to Curly's namesake, Curly Howard. He rescued and found homes for nearly 5000 dogs during his lifetime. What an amazing legacy!**

More about this shelter

Cheatham County Animal Control is committed to finding good homes for the animals that come into the shelter system. We work with rescues and adopters. We are a no kill shelter but we rely on people coming in to adopt!

All of our cats/dogs receive vaccinations that are appropriate for the age and health when they are at animal control. We also spay and neuter all of our animals. The adopter is responsible for all vaccinations and medical care after adoption.
