My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hope is a 5-year-old, 12 lb Chihuahua who was abandoned in CA and brought to WA to find her a loving home. This is what her foster mom has to say about her:

"We have no idea how anyone could leave behind this bundle of goofy joy. Hope’s bigger-than-life personality keeps us laughing! She’s playful but chill and easygoing too. Many foster dogs are scared when they arrive in a new home, but Hope just walked in like she owned the place. She plays well with her foster siblings but would also be perfectly content as your one-and-only.

Hope is crate-trained, rides beautifully in the car, and walks great on a leash. She’s well-behaved at dog parks and enjoys meeting other dogs.

Hope is both goofy and endearing, with a calm demeanor that makes her easy to have around. She always lets you know she’s your biggest fan—gently nibbling your hand in excitement and then climbing on top of you like she’s scaling a mountain. Other times, we find her in another room, snoozing away the afternoon.

Hope seems to have strong opinions about people every once in a while. She wasn’t sure about her foster dad at first. But after a few treats, they became best friends, and now she drapes herself all over him and tries to lick his nose. When we eat, she offers a low-key running commentary (in dog language) that translates to, ‘Hey just so ya know, I’m standing by in case you need a taste tester.’ And when 8 pm hits, she heads straight for the nearest blanket, burrows in, and falls asleep on her back with her legs in the air. She’s a total riot—quirky, affectionate, and full of love. We just adore her!”

Hope is up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, and spayed. Her adoption fee is $450.

More about this rescue

Forever Home Dog Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. We receive dogs from owner surrenders and overcrowded shelters. All of the dogs are housed in private, loving foster homes or a kennel in the greater Seattle area. We assess their behaviors and health and help them relax during their transition to a forever home. The dogs remain in foster care or in our kenneling facility until they are adopted. All of the dogs are/or will be spayed or neutered, microchipped and are current on routine vaccinations.

Forever home dog rescue is not a shelter and thus you cannot see the dogs without an appointment.

We need foster homes! Thinking about adopting a dog, but not sure yet about which breed or if you're ready for the long-term commitment? Consider becoming a foster parent. A foster dog placement can be anywhere from two weeks to several months. We provide any dog supplies you may need and cover all necessary medical costs for your foster dog. You provide the love and attention and bring the dogs to adoption events at least twice per month.

Interested? Send us an email at fhdrwa@gmail.com and we'll send you a foster application. It's lots of fun and you will meet lots of dogs and other people who love dogs.
