My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Fonda, a bundle of joy who will undoubtedly bring a smile to your face the moment you meet her. With her totally Shar Pei head, complete with smooshy, kissable lips, and a body resembling a small, fluffy lab, she's an irresistible mix of goofy charm and adorable wrinkles. Weighing in at a lean 37 pounds, Fonda is a fun-loving adult who could stand to pack on a few more pounds, but her playful energy is in full force!

Her signature moves include rolling over for belly rubs, zoomies around the yard, and an insatiable love for pets and attention. Fonda is great with other dogs-big or small, young or old-and gets along well with cats, too. While her interactions with children are unknown, she doesn't seem to have an aggressive bone in her body and is generally a sweetheart.

Fonda seems to be completely potty trained and does well in her crate. Although she prefers to be with her human, she's getting better at settling in her crate. She sleeps quietly through the night, provided she gets one last bathroom break before bed-she can be an early riser if she misses her before bed potty time! On a leash, she's making progress on not pulling, but tends to walk as if always on a mission.

This sweet girl is currently learning the "sit" command and making strides with training. Playful, a little clumsy, and full of affection, Fonda is simply fabulous and would thrive with regular walks, plenty of belly rubs, and lots of quality time with her people.

Additional adoption info

All puppies and dogs at Saving Grace are crate trained, have been spayed/neutered, are up to date on their vaccines, are on heartworm preventative and have been microchipped. Their adoption fee is $350.00. Each has been carefully screened for disposition and temperament in order to provide your home with a safe companion that will enjoy life as your new family member.

If you are interested in meeting one of our dogs, please complete an Adoption Application at our website: savinggracenc.org

Sending an Application does not commit you to an adoption, it simply provides us with background information on potential homes. Please review our Adoption Contract before sending an Application to ensure that you will be able to provide the requirements stated in the contract. The Contract must be signed at the time of adoption.

Saving Grace is a small, non-profit 501-C3 organization operated by volunteers only. Most of our animals come from rural animal control shelters where lack of space and resources limit their time and adoption possibilities. Thank you for choosing Saving Grace! We look forward to helping you find your new companion and family member.

More about this rescue

Located in central North Carolina and officially established in 2004, Saving Grace has placed over 15,000 dogs into homes since its inception. These dogs were from rural animal control facilities with little resources and who would otherwise not had the opportunity to receive necessary veterinary care and a chance at adoption. While we have grown significantly over the years and have been successful growing our numbers we still see many great dogs miss the opportunity of adoption.

We have a large variety of dogs varying in breed, size, shape, age and needs and would love to work with you to find you a great dog companion while providing a dog in need with a loving home. Our dogs are chosen based on temperament and socialization. We get some of the most charming, unique mix breeds as well as some striking purebreds. Our dogs come from rural, underserved areas and while they may have little experience as an indoor family member, they have the temperament and personality that is sure to bring much love and appreciation to their new home. Most have started their crate training while in our program. Veterinary care including spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm test, vaccinations, monthly preventatives are provided prior to each adoption. If you would like more information about adopting one of our dogs, please email savinggrace@savinggracenc.org
