Introducing Anderson! Anderson joined the AHHS under unexpected circumstances. He was brought in by an individual stating that he had been dumped on their property. We aren't quite sure why anyone would dump such a wonderful dog. Anderson, Andy for short, is truly a charmer. He has won us all over in such a short time. His personality is fantastic, and he just loves attention. He is dog friendly and would do fine in a home with children! Anderson deserves a life of comfort and love given his unfortunate past. Adoption applications are required and are available on our website. We do require references and interview potential adopters. All animals will be current on the vaccinations, microchipped and be either spayed or neutered before the adoption is finalized.
Our dog adoption fees range from $150.00 to $275.00 depending on the age of the dog. Cat adoption fees are $50.00.

The Appalachian Highlands Humane Society is a private non-profit 501(c)3 charitable organization dedicated to the welfare of all animals. We do not receive public or government funding, and no monies from national humane organizations or county, state or federal government funds. Our work depends solely on grants, fundraisers, adoptions, private funding, memberships and donations. The fees collected from the adoption of each animal help to offset some of the costs involved in providing care for the animals and preparing an animal for placement into a new home. We value every animal equally and consider all to be priceless
