My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Summers County Humane Society

Hunter is an old fellow but still has a lot of life and love in him. He’s a big boy, weighing about 90lbs. His exact age is unknown but he’s probably 8 or 9. He’s definitely got some lab in his family tree. He loves wading in the river. He’s generally pretty laid back. Hunter greets people with a wag of his tail. He does not do well with intact males but is in a foster home with a neutered male and they have become best buddies. Hunter would love a front porch and pond or a creek to chase the ducks from. He walks well on a leash, as long as you’re going where he wants to. He keeps his area clean. Hunter would love to find a home to live out his senior years.

Additional adoption info

ACWP's requires potential adopters to submit an application and veterinary references to be reviewed by our placement team. A phone interview will follow and if a suitable animal is available a home visit will be arranged.

ACWP requests a tax-deductible donation of $200 for most dog adoptions to help offset vetting expenses and to assist care for future animals.

Go meet their pets

Our county and ACWP, Inc. do not have an animal shelter and our pets are kept in foster homes. Without fosters homes, we have to turn dogs away and they will be killed. Email is the fastest way to reach us: acwp@acwp-wv.org
