My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Coriander was brought in by her previous owner on August 11, 2024.

Why this pet is the one for you:
This is Coriander! Coriander was originally found outdoors and adopted by someone looking to give her a home. Unfortunately, she wasn't playing nice with the other cats in the home and was brought to us. Coriander has some unique quirks, so we're looking for a unique home for her! She can be quite spicy with handling, so will need a home without exposure to young kids. She likely would thrive with some outdoor time (think catio) in order to have a good energy outlet, but would want to come inside for cuddle time after she's all tuckered out and would enjoy spending most of her time indoors! She is quite the friendly cat and loves to follow you around and spend time with you! Due to her behavior around other cats, she may do best in a home that can limit her exposure to other cats, both indoors and outdoors. Does Coriander sound like the one for you? Come in and ask about adopting! Don't forget a secure, hard-sided carrier!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
