My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Stella is a sweet and affectionate senior cat with a heart full of love, ready to bring warmth and joy to her new home. Her soft, velvety fur and gentle purrs are just the beginning of her endearing qualities. Stella has a knack for making those around her feel special, and she delights in snuggling up next to her favorite humans, offering gentle headbutts and contented purrs in return for a little attention. Despite her age, Stella's playful spirit remains vibrant, and she enjoys simple pleasures like lounging in a sunny spot or enjoying a nice snack. She's seeking a loving and serene home with no children where she can continue to shower her new family with affection. If you're looking for a loyal companion to share cozy evenings and quiet moments, Stella is the perfect match-her loving heart is ready to make your home feel complete.

Stella has an ongoing issue with weight and will need to have her feeding closely monitored. We are currently keeping her on a special allergy food as she may have some sensitivity that could require medication.

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
