My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Milkshake is sure to bring EVERYONE to your yard when you adopt this handsome boy into your furever home! This guy's underbite is sure to win you over, and if it doesn't, then his goofy, playful, and sweet personality should do the trick.

Milkshake's needs are simple: he loves kongs filled with yummy goodies, cuddling, and short walks. He has low-to-medium energy, making him the perfect Netflix-and-chill buddy. His ideal home is somewhere he can be the lazy couch potato he's always dreamed of being, but also has space for him to get the occasional zoomies out.

He is known for making everyone at Big Barn laugh because he won't hesitate to plop down in your lap for a good wrinkle rub. This goofy guy just wants to be cuddled and loved. He loves everybody he meets, and now is just looking for his new best friend to enjoy long nights on the couch and naps in the sun together. And maybe a peanut butter milkshake or two!

More about this rescue

ALIVE Rescue is a sustainable animal rescue group committed to protecting the lives and rights of animals. We believe that every animal has the right to a well-balanced, socialized and fulfilled life. We take on the responsibility to save, rehabilitate and place abandoned, abused and stray animals. Our rescue permanently houses and cares for the animals that cannot be placed into forever homes for the duration of their natural lives. We provide medical, behavioral and physical support for animals despite their age, health, and/or breed. At ALIVE Rescue, we promote sustainable living and care-giving by building awareness, appreciation and respect for all animals and the environment within our communities. We constantly work to educate the public on current animal issues, including the benefits of spaying/neutering pets.

Since our formation in 2008, ALIVE Rescue has rescued more than 1,600 animals in the Chicago area.
