My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Breezy, a one-year-old bundle of energy with cuddles for days! This sweet girl is on the lookout for an active family who can keep up with her love for running, playing, and learning.

Breezy is impressively housetrained, super friendly, and gets along great with other dogs. She’s currently acing her Puppy Manners class, showing off her smarts and charm. This tough cookie had a broken leg and underwent surgery, spending time confined during recovery—an extra challenge for a growing pup like Breezy, but she’s come through it stronger than ever!

Her adorable ears have a personality all their own—one minute they’re like little antennas, and the next, they’re Dorito-shaped cuteness! With a flash of white on her chest and silky black fur, Breezy is as striking as she is sweet.

After spending time in foster care with her siblings and a resident dog, Breezy is ready to bring her joyful spirit into a loving home. If you’re looking for a playful, snuggly pup to join your family, Breezy is the perfect match!

Additional adoption info

Our shelter has more than 500 available cats and dogs every day!
For pets at the shelter: Adoptions must be completed in-person at the shelter. AAC is open for adoption walk-ins every day from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. A shelter pet’s availability can change at any time, so we recommend choosing a few favorites.
For pets in foster: Go to www.AustinAnimalCenter.org to find the pet's profile and click that pet's pink “Adopt Me” button. This will prompt you to complete an adoption questionnaire. Submitting an application does not hold the animal for you.
We have dozens of animals that won't be listed online yet because they're still in their stray hold period, but can be pre-adopted at the shelter in case their owner doesn't come for them.

Adoption Fees:
$80 cats & kittens up to 6 years old
$80 dogs 6 months to 6 years, 30 lbs and up
$100 dogs under 30 lbs and/or under 6 months
$30 small animals
No fee for senior pets 7 years and older

More about this shelter

Austin Animal Center is the largest open-intake animal shelter in central Texas and we work very hard to try to save 90% or more of the thousands of animals we shelter every year. We always need volunteers and both monetary and in-kind donations to help us in our sheltering and prevention activities. Visit our website to find out how you can help!
