Handsome boy Oliver is a 3 year old boy surrendered to the rescue a few months ago with his brother Eric. His previous owner had them from the time they were kittens and adored them, but needed to let them go for their own benefit due to a loss of the family’s housing. Both he and his brother are friendly but a bit cautious and shy on first meeting. They do come out of their shell with time. They are looking for a nice home where they can get all the love and snuggles they want. Since they have been together since they were kittens, we are offering them as a bonded pair with a discounted adoption fee.
Although when they initially arrived, Oliver seemed to be acting as his more nervous brother’s protector, often sitting by him when there were people and other cats around that he wasn’t sure about, the roles seem to have reversed as they have decompressed with us. Oliver is the more shy one. He does enjoy petting but it takes a week or two of you being the "food-giver" for him to trust you. Getting a few back pets in while he is chowing down is essential to the adjustment process.
They are good with other cats and did not seem spooked by dogs when they were at Petsmart. (They are currently in a foster home.) They would be fine in a home with respectful children aged 6+.
It's always more difficult to find homes for black cats....doubly so when you have a bonded pair of them. These gentlemen have been waiting for four months now and it would be so wonderful to see them find a new home for Christmas.
Oliver is neutered, microchipped, fully vaccinated and is FIV/FeLV negative. All cats adopted from the rescue must remain as indoor pets only and must never be declawed. Please apply to adopt at packleadersrescue.com.
