My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

**Poppy is a Patient Paw, please ask about their reduced adoption fee!**

Age: 1 year old
Breed: Domestic rabbit
Weight: 2.04kg / 4.5lb

Meet Poppy, an independent and curious rabbit who's still learning to trust humans. Described by her foster family as shy but adventurous, Poppy loves to explore her surroundings during free roam time. To help her feel safe and secure, she'll need a spacious, bunny-proofed area where she can roam and play. Her setup should include cozy hideaways, tunnels, and plenty of chew toys to keep her entertained. Poppy's diet should consist of high-quality hay, fresh greens, and a small portion of rabbit pellets. With patience, love, and the right environment, Poppy will thrive as a delightful companion in your home. She's back at the shelter waiting to find her hoppily ever after. Is that with you?

More about this shelter

CONNECTING LIVES SINCE 1922

From our earliest beginning, Calgary Humane Society was more than a shelter. As Calgary’s first-established animal welfare organization, connecting the lives of animals and people while providing essential animal services to the community remains our central priority.

Today, Calgary Humane Society (CHS) shelters almost 5,000 homeless animals each year. In 1922 we set out to help as many animals as we can and we will continue to do so by fostering the values of respect, compassion, commitment, teamwork, integrity and innovation.

Our mission is to help as many animals as we can.

Our vision is using innovative strategies to lead, inspire, and educate in the humane treatment of companion animals, fostering an enlightened community that consistently demonstrates respect and compassion for all animals.

Our dream is a community where animals are valued, humanely treated, and live enriched lives.

Calgary Humane Society is committed to creating a better tomorrow through education and collaboration.
