My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Age: 15 years old
Weight: 5.89kg / 12.9lbs

Meet Missy, a 15-year-old Bengal with a personality as vibrant as her stunning coat. Missy is seeking a home where she can be the only cat, as she enjoys her space. Unfortunately, Missy was declawed on her front paws-a cruel practice that, thankfully, is banned in most Canadian provinces, including Alberta. This procedure can lead to lasting pain, mobility challenges, and behavioral changes, which may explain her need for boundaries.

Once Missy feels safe, she truly loves attention from her people, soaking up all the scritches and affection she can get. She's also a big fan of honeysuckle toys and enjoys hunting feathered or insect-themed wand toys. Despite her age, her wild instincts are still sharp! Missy even enjoys being brushed once she's comfortable, which is a great bonding activity. And in typical Bengal-fashion, she's quite vocal, so be prepared for plenty of conversation!

If you're an experienced cat owner who can give Missy the respectful, loving home she deserves, she could be the perfect companion for you!

More about this shelter

CONNECTING LIVES SINCE 1922

From our earliest beginning, Calgary Humane Society was more than a shelter. As Calgary’s first-established animal welfare organization, connecting the lives of animals and people while providing essential animal services to the community remains our central priority.

Today, Calgary Humane Society (CHS) shelters almost 5,000 homeless animals each year. In 1922 we set out to help as many animals as we can and we will continue to do so by fostering the values of respect, compassion, commitment, teamwork, integrity and innovation.

Our mission is to help as many animals as we can.

Our vision is using innovative strategies to lead, inspire, and educate in the humane treatment of companion animals, fostering an enlightened community that consistently demonstrates respect and compassion for all animals.

Our dream is a community where animals are valued, humanely treated, and live enriched lives.

Calgary Humane Society is committed to creating a better tomorrow through education and collaboration.
