My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

HARTFORD COUNTY, CT: Beautiful Rose wants to bloom with you!

Sweet Rose is 4 years old and weighs 55 lbs. Sadly, she was found as a stray in the big scary city and ended up on the euthanasia list at the overcrowded shelter. Luckily, she was seen by kind-hearted fosters who knew this gorgeous girl deserved a better chance at life. Because of them, Rose was rescued and has been decompressing nicely in her foster home. They happily report "Her true personality has begun to shine, and we have started to #SeeRoseBloom!" Her fosters have learned that she loves car rides, and she will sniff out the window with a beaming panting smile. She has the energy of a younger pittie and LOVES to run up the stairs wagging to greet her foster parent whenever she hears the door open! Adorably, she tries to mirror her smaller chihuahua foster sister by climbing into laps for extra cuddles. Rose gets along with most other dogs, but not all - proper and slow introductions are a must! Once familiar with another dog, she is friendly, but no cats for her please! She also likes to jump up at times for hugs, which her fosters are working on, but admittedly, they also love her hugs and her huge heart. For this reason we recommend older kids or an adult-only home. Rose is housetrained, fully vetted and microchipped.

Rose's favorite toys are rope toys, which she loves to chew on and play tug of war with. Rope toys and going for walks are super easy ways to healthily channels her energy. Sometimes she expresses interest in other dogs and tugs on the leash to see them, but she remains friendly to dogs and is always obsessed with people and making new friends. Despite her zany pittie energy, she also takes treats extremely gently. When she cuddles up on the couch with you, expect to hear her occasional deep sighs of gratitude.

If you are searching for a heartwarming lovebug who loves to play, snuggle, and shower you with affection as pitties so classically do, you have found your match in Rose! Rose has been fully vetted, spayed, microchipped and is ready for her new life to begin! Could that be with you?

If you can open your heart and home to dear Rose, please contact AmsterDog by call/text at 917-689-8414 or by email at info@amsterdog.org. Apply to adopt Rose at AmsterDog.org.

Go meet their pets

AmsterDog Rescue does not have its own facility. Instead, we rely on fosters to care for our beloved animals. Our available animals may change depending on your location and we do transport animals for adoptions within a reasonable distance. Since you will possibly be speaking with and meeting a foster directly, an application must be filled out prior to meet and greets.

For adoption inquiries, please contact AmsterDog Rescue at 917-689-8414 or info@amsterdog.org. To get the process started, please fill out our online application at www.amsterdog.org/application.
