My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

NAME: Paisley
BREED: Chihuahua/Min Pin Mix
BIRTHDAY: 2020
WEIGHT: 11lbs
ADOPTION FEE: $150

Paisley and her "brother" Max are a sweet bonded pair who came to us from a southern shelter. We don't know their history but they are very comfortable in a home and VERY friendly with new people, so we think they were loved and cared for once. Both were already spayed/neutered and heartworm negative as well. Max is the older of the pair, calmer and quieter than Paisley but with plenty of energy! He's very agile and his favorite place to nap is in a cat bed on the second shelf off the ground. Max is also very good at hopping through the cat door and helping himself to snacks: since the cats are not the ones being snacked on, this isn't too stressful for anyone. Both Max and Paisley are great with cats and very good with other dogs, although Paisley does like to give little bird bites if the big dogs come too close. No one minds and no one gets hurt, so again we are not stressed out by her antics. Both pups have been a bit yappy when left home alone, and although they've improved immensely we do not recommend them for an apartment. Max has done very well with house training, and Paisley appears to be pad trained for some reason. They are both very clingy and needy, but gentle and sweet, so we believe they'd do well with respectful children. Max and Paisley are both fully vetted with no known health issues. Paisley is currently taking Trazadone for her anxiety, but in a more normal home environment she may not need this med ication going forward. These are lovely little dogs who are surely missing their own home and their own laps to snuggle on. Although they are no trouble in foster care, we'd like to find them a home right away so they can start to settle into the life they deserve!

More about this rescue

Good Old Tails Senior Animal Rescue is a non-profit organization dedicated to saving the lives of senior dogs and cats in the Southern Pennsylvania/Northern Maryland areas.
We believe that senior animals deserve loving, caring homes where they will be taken care of the rest of their days.

Good Old Tails Senior Animal Rescue was founded in 2015 by a small group of animal lovers. Years of rescue showed us that the senior demographic in shelters is often the most overlooked and highly euthanized. These animals are discarded because of failing health, new pets in the family, a lack of time for attention and care, and countless other reasons which Good Old Tails finds deplorable. Pets are a commitment for life, not until they are an inconvenience. We are dedicated to saving as many senior dogs and cats as we can, and providing them with love and care so that they can live out the rest of their days with dignity and happiness. Some of these animals may never leave our rescue, and their foster families will be the ones to say the last good-bye. Others will go on to find families of their own. Whatever the outcome, we have made the promise to them that they will never again be alone.
