My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Arlo has found himself in need of a new home at only 5months old. Not everyone is prepared for the pyrenees size and at 50lbs already, Arlo is certainly going to be a big fellow. He is looking for a home that is prepared for a large dog and will love him unconditionally. Arlo has been with us 2 months now looking for a new home and while he has had some interest, something always comes in the way of him meeting his new adopters! His foster says he has been great with her dogs and kids, he has been a little shy and unsure, but has already started opening up in her home, even seeming to prefer the little ones the most. He needs someone to help build his confidence and help him believe in forever again! Can you be his forever?

Go meet their pets

We have a weekly adoption fair at Petco in Danville, Va. where we bring some of our dogs and cats. Most are fostered in members' homes. If you see a dog on our web site, please call us and we will make an appointment for you to meet. We make every effort to match the dogs with their prospective homes. Go to http://spcaofpittsco.rescuegroups.org or spcaofpc.petfinder.com.

More about this rescue

We are a group of dedicated volunteers formed in 2007 to increase adoptions and reduce the kill rate from our local pound. We foster, vet, transfer and love all the dogs that we rescue and make every possible effort to place them in forever loving homes. We also operate a food bank to help keep pets in their homes. We are totally dependent on volunteers and donations from animal lovers like ourselves. We are saving and placing 20-30 dogs a month who would have been euthanized. We need you-Please help us save precious lives.
